DAY CARE
EUROPEAN SERVICES
We operate fifteen Day Centres, Monday to Saturday. Two of which are based at Clarence House on Humberstone Gate, the remaining thirteen are based at various venues throughout the City of Leicester. We cater for the following groups: Older People with Learning Disabilities; Older People with Physical Health Difficulties and Older People with Mental Health problems and frail older people.
NAVJIVAN SERVICES
We have two Day Care centres based at our new multicultural centre Catherine House in Evington. One centre is for elders from the Gujarat community and the other is for elders from the Punjab.
LUNCHEON CLUBS
We have two Lunch Clubs. One catering for Muslim elders which meets twice a week and serves seventy people. Our other Lunch Club is a mixed group of Asian elders and meets three times a week and serves 140 people.
Day Care consists of transport to and from home to a centre, either at Clarence House, Catherine House or at various other centres in the community. There are light refreshments and a hot dinner served during the day. Stimulating activities and social contact is provided as well as outings in the better weather.
Referral to these services is through the Social Care and Health Department of Leicester City Council.
There are opportunities for volunteers to work in Day Care centres assisting staff with their duties. This could include being involved in escort duties on vehicles, supporting people in activities of their choosing. Developing activities and assisting on outings and trips. We like to utilize our volunteers skills to the best advantage of our service users.
